Bringing your newborn home is equal parts fairy-tale and mystery - and you deserve a pediatric team that walks every step with you. At SPDocs, our board-certified physicians and on-site registered nurses offer deeply personalized guidance from the very first visit, combining small-practice warmth with up-to-the-minute medical expertise. Whether you’re soothing a brand-new baby at 2 a.m. or navigating your infant’s first milestones, we’re just a phone call away with same-day care, evidence-based answers, and the reassurance only decades of experience can provide.

Your Baby's First-Week Visit
During the vital first seven days we perform a gentle, head-to-toe assessment to be sure your baby is thriving.
Weight and temperature check to confirm healthy growth and rule out fever or hypothermia.
Examination of the umbilical-cord and (if applicable) circumcision sites for proper healing.
Review of hospital findings such as jaundice levels or hearing-screen results.
First hepatitis B vaccine if it wasn't given before discharge.
Feeding Support - Breast or Bottle
Successful feeding sets the tone for growth, sleep, and parental confidence, so we devote time to individualized coaching.
Breastfeeding:
Evaluate latch and milk transfer, troubleshoot supply issues, prescribe vitamin D as needed, and assess tongue-tie (with in-office release available).
Bottle Feeding:
Confirm formula type, volume, and timing to avoid under- or over- feeding.
Diaper Counts:
Aim for 6+ wet and 3–4 dirty diapers daily by week’s end - key markers of adequate intake
Building Healthy Sleep Habits Early
Safe, restorative sleep fuels brain development and keeps everyone happier.
Safe-sleep positioning (back-only) plus crib, bassinet, and room-sharing guidelines.
Day-night routines that gently teach circadian rhythms.
Age-based sleep-stretch expectations and soothing techniques that don't rely on unsafe props.
Postpartum check-in: a quick look at mom's recovery and emotional well-being - because family health is baby health.
